The problem with pests

A pest is a bird, animal, rodent or insect that is encroaching on your space, whether that is in or outside of a property. In many cases, people try to live with them but, this is not a harmonious arrangement and here’s why;

Nuisance – a pest in or around a property is a nuisance. Even if they are ‘benign’ and not dangerous, they can cause damage. The carpet beetle, for example, can cause a vast amount of damage to soft furnishing, carpets and stored clothes even if they have a small amount of natural fibres in them.

The woodworm is similar. The wood-boring beetle, if undetected, can cause the wooden structures of some buildings to become unsafe and weak.

Spotting the signs of any pest infestation and dealing with it early, can make the difference between an expensive repair bill and just paying for a pest control technician to deal with the problem.

Hazard – but some pests present significant danger to human health and MUST be deal with as quickly as possible. It makes sense to call in an expert, who has all the skills and equipment to deal with it safely.

Rats, for example, spread a bacteria that can make us very ill. The sting from a wasp or bee can cause an allergic reaction, sometimes fatal and thus, it is essential that you call me – do NOT try to deal with dangerous pests.
