There are many reasons why, if you think or know you have a pest infestation that you need to call me, Gary Coates of West London Pest Control.
Danger!
There are some pests that present a real danger to us humans, especially to our health. For example, at best the sting from an angry, agitated wasp can be painful but, at its very worst, it can be fatal. Anaphylaxis is a shock reaction by the body to the venom in a wasp or bee sting but, many people are unaware they are allergic to it until it is too late; sometimes, the resulting shock reaction can be fatal.
Other pests can make us ill; rodents are continuously incontinent, secreting a bacterium in their urine that, if ingested, can make us ill indeed. The cockroach, despised by many, spread salmonella as they scuttle across floors, work tops and so on.
In many cases, these pest infestations and problems will not go away on their own. In fact, untreated the infestation can grow to gargantuan proportions.
Damage!
Some pests, whilst presenting little direct hazard to health, can cause a huge amount of damage if left. Woodworm, a wood-boring beetle not a worm, can live undetected in wood for a long, long time. This can compromise the integral structure of a piece of furniture or wood structures in a property, thus if not treated can mean huge expense in terms of repairs as well as dealing with the infestation.
Some pests, like pesky bed bugs and fleas, don’t cause damage to the property as such, but the thought of sharing the sofa or bed with an insect is uncomfortable (those itchy bites!) and unpleasant.
